I have always considered that if you don’t understand patient care, it makes designing an environment to care for patients a difficult task.  Patient care is unlike any other industry in the world and the dynamics can change faster and more frequently than any other industry.  One must have spent time in healthcare and in the service of healthcare professionals, to better translate their need to a practical work space.

A1 Office Fitouts has been serving the medical industry with fitouts and furnishings for over ten years.  I joined A1 Office Fitouts as general manager having spent nearly ten years working in the healthcare industry.  In that time I facilitated many fitouts, expansions and managed growing pains experienced by working healthcare professionals within constrained budgets and poorly constructed environments.  It is this experience that when coupled with the design skills at A1, enables us to develop very clever and practical healthcare premises that suit many budgets. 

It is easy when embarking on a project in healthcare to get lost in the numbers and financial costs.  We know this and so never lose site of the end goal of the environment we are creating, which is the ability to actively and effectively offer good patient care.

The more experience, not to be confused with more money, employed in design means you spend less money when doing the job. Productivity and “easy-to-use” work environments ultimately satisfy ROI (return of investment) for the financially focused.
